Khotang, April 12: A commuter bus en route to Kathmandu from Diktel met with an accident at Barkhetar of Arkhanle. 

The bus (Ba 2 Kha 6373) met with the accident at around 8.30 AM this morning. Eye witness said that the bus veered off the road around 100 metres at Barkhetar due to narrowed road. Locals said that there may be a slim chance for passengers to remain alive as the bus is not even visible from the road. 

The number of passengers on board the bus was 28 in the beginning. But, the number increased to 40 when some passengers came in on the way. The accident site is in around four hour walking distance from district headquarters Diktel. 

A team has moved to the site for rescue operation, said Police Inspector at Khotang District Police Office, Saroj Rai. The details of the accident are yet to come out, police shared. Earlier too, several accidents had taken place in the area. RSS
